We teamed up with our long-standing customer, Pete Davidson Landscapes and Edable Architecture to revamp and beautify the grounds of a Coastal Garden in the sought-after village of Bamburgh, Northumberland.
Pete Davidson Landscapes were challenged with a full garden design and revamp to enhance, privatize and beautify the grounds of a newly refurbished Victorian property in the beautiful Bamburgh. They called upon Johnsons to supply thousands of plants including shrubs, hedging, trees, herbaceous and bulbs.
Pete Davidson Landscapes worked with Edable Architecture on the Garden Design plans which included a formal lawn with stone planters, a pergola over a large patio area, parterre planting and a beautiful waterfall as pictured below.
100’s of 1.8m Griselinia littoralis hedging units (as pictured below) were used to create boundary lines and privacy. Other hedging plants including 1000’s of Buxus sempervirens were used to create classic parterre sections.
Over 6,000 bulbs were planted throughout the garden to create impressive spring displays, they include Alliums, Crocus, Daffodils, Fritillaria, Galanthus nivalis, and Tulips.
Herbaceous plants were added to add colour during the summer months with varieties such as Agapanthus, Anemone, Iris, Heucheras, Geraniums, Euphorbia, Brunnera, Rhododendron and Azaleas used.
Shrub varieties including Buxus cones were used in the classic parterre areas, while Cornus, Viburnums, Hebes, Hydrangeas, Roses, Aucuba, Phormium and Weigela were used to enhance other areas. Tree varieties such as Prunus ‘Amanogawa’ and Magnolias were also used in the design.
The owners of the Victorian property were delighted with their full garden design which has enhanced and beautified the grounds of their newly refurbished house. Offering the perfect space for outdoor entertaining.
