We worked with an award-winning hotel in the Scottish Highlands, The Torridon, to supply the plants for a new gin garden, named after the hotel’s own blend of gin.
The Torridon was originally built in 1860 as a hunting lodge before being transformed a luxurious hotel a century later. Set in 58 acres of parkland at the tip of a sea loch, the hotel enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the Highlands.
The owners wanted to create an outdoor gin garden to complement the existing gin and whisky bar, that serves 120 gins and 365 malt whiskies.
It was vital that the garden offered a new, fresh space where guests could relax while remaining in keeping with both the traditional essence of the building and the stunning surroundings.
The garden is named after the hotel’s own gin, Arcturus, which is flavoured with locally foraged botanicals and blended with pure Scottish loch water for a crisp, dry finish.
Our plant supply, worth more than £5,000, formed part of the new ‘Arturcus’ Gin Garden at the award-winning luxury hotel where guests can relax and unwind while enjoying the Torridon’s own gin, ‘Artucus’. We supplied 460 Buxus Sempervirens (Box), that have been used for partitioning around the star-shaped pool and pergola, 1,500 herbaceous plants including Achillea, Alstroemeria, Crocosmia and Rudbeckia, and four Sorbus Aucuparia (Rowan) trees.
Our supply transformed the garden into a beautiful, tranquil space where guests can sit back and enjoy an Artucus gin. The mixture of hedging plants, herbaceous plants and rowan trees really compliment the existing features of the hotel and provide a stunning gin garden in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
