We were selected by Ashlea Ltd to supply a large number of shrubs to help restore the waterfall banking at Center Parcs Whinfell Forest in Penrith.
We were tasked with supplying plants to Whinfel Forest via our long-standing customer Ashlea Ltd. The holiday destination is part of Center Parcs and offers short breaks on the edge of the stunning Lake District National Park, it includes indoor and outdoor activities, an onsite pub, restaurants and shops. It is a sanctuary for the endangered red squirrel.
Ashlea’s works included the clearance of an existing Rhododendron banking, a new comprehensive design and the planting of over 250 10L shrubs.
Plant varieties included Pinus mugo, Euonymus fort. ‘Emerald ‘n’ Gold’, Cotinus cogg. ‘Royal Purple’, Polystichum setiferum, Choisya ternata ‘Sundance’, Carex oshimensis ‘Evergold’ and lots of other varieties.
The restoration of the waterfall banking that is passed by 1000’s of visitors per year is now flourishing with a mixture of mature shrubs that will be enjoyed by many guests for years to come.
