The business had little capital to start with, Eric’s wife was a big help as they worked all hours. Eventually, Eric bought a model T Ford lorry and started going to other markets such as Knaresborough and Otley to sell.
Around the same time, a few dutchmen found Mr Johnson and he did a little importing. As trade increased, he took on another three men.
